It is the first model of this series to reach the level of carbon neutrality in its manufacture. And the fact is that the brand has used recyclable materials for its design and optimized production processes to reduce its carbon footprint. Thus, the chassis is made with a special alloy that uses 100% recycled aluminum.

100% reused rare earths are also used in all magnets, as well as 100% recycled tin, gold and copper in solders, boards and various printed circuits. As if that were not enough, its packaging is composed of fiber, which brings Apple closer to its goal of eliminating plastic in its packaging by 2025.

Ultra-bright display
The Liquid Retina XDR display of the Apple MacBook Pro 14 M4 2024 has not changed from the previous model. Under this commercial name hides a 14.2-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 3024 x 1964 pixels, equipped with mini-LED backlighting and ProMotion technology that adjusts the refresh rate between 24 and 120 Hz, depending on the content displayed.

To this are added an infinite contrast and deep blacks that rival those of an OLED screen. The particularly high brightness of the monitor, with more than 1000 nits outdoors and 1600 nits in HDR formats, makes it the best ally for working outdoors. In addition, for an additional cost, the option of a nanotextured matte panel is offered, ideal for users who work in environments with abundant sunlight and seek to eliminate reflections.

The key is in the chip
The Apple MacBook Pro 14 M4 features a backlit keyboard with adjustable brightness and excellent response of its well-spaced keys.

The central part houses a large glass touchpad, equipped with a vibration detector that immediately recognizes finger movements. Its gliding is fluid and the haptic response of clicks is still impressive.

However, the real star addition this year is under the hood. This is the M4 processor, now accompanied by 16 or 24 GB of unified RAM by default and 512 GB or 1 TB of internal storage. This powerful chip, powered by a neural engine with AI accelerators, doubles the efficiency of its predecessors in everything it runs: from video editing, photography and games to professional application development and autonomy improvements. In fact, the latter is really impressive, with 16 hours of Internet browsing or up to 24 hours of streaming video playback.

As for connectivity, we are entitled to 3 Thunberbolt 4 ports, an HDMI 2.1, memory card slot and headphone jack, among others.

A worthwhile investment
The price of the Apple MacBook Pro 14 M4 is not modest. However, its generous features make it an especially attractive purchase for nomadic professionals looking for an all-terrain laptop, capable of offering exemplary performance in demanding tasks such as graphic design, software development, video editing and a long etcetera.
